Samuel for Class President!

My wonderful brother is running for president of his senior class! He had asked me to make him a poster for his campaign, so that he could copy it and put them around the school. After playing around for a while, this is the image we came up with!

Pizza! Pizza!

The other night my family and I made homemade pizzas. They were so delicious and so fun to make. My pizza had tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, mushrooms, black olives and even some yukon gold potatoes. I would highly recommend making some pizzas with friends or family this summer!

New Shoes!

Sometimes it can seem impossible to find the perfect pair of shoes, and I am happy to say I found some! I got these adorable shoes from Free People. I love that they are not too high and can be worn casual or dressed up for a night out. They are so comfortable and are great for summer! If you see me around soon, you will most likely see me in them!

Sisters in Jewelry

Last summer when I visited Charleston and stayed with one of my best friends, Allison, we went to the best bead and jewelry making store. We must have spent an hour and a half picking from the rows of beautiful beads. I had given one of the necklaces to my mom when I got back. It was such a great surprise to see my sister wearing it when I came home this Saturday after my final. She looked so beautiful in it, and it made me want to make some jewelry again (and visit Charleston)!

If you ever find yourself in Charleston, make sure to stop by Beads on Cannon if you have some spare time! The website is http://www.beadsoncannon.com/

Annie Song of the Day

So, for my first song post, I tried to think of one of the most "Annie" songs I could think of. My mom loves ELO, and played it all the time when I was little. I have so many memories with their songs, and don't think I will ever get sick of them. This is one of my favorites, great for a beautiful summers day like today!

3D work

I did this piece earlier this year in my 3D class. It is made out of styrofoam cups that have been used at my house and hot glue. The fruits are an orange, apple, lemon, banana and grapes. They are to actual size and lay inside of a bowl also made of styrofoam. I am very interested in food and health, and made this project in a response to the food industry and our interaction as Americans with the environment. Here is a close up picture, hope you enjoy!

2D Artwork

So, I have had some problems with this blog already. I spent so much time on it, and today when I got on, it had deleted 4 of my posts! So here I am re-doing them :( but oh well! I'm becoming quite the fast lil' blogger.

Here are some of my works from my 2D class this semester that I have photographed already! More to come...

Digital Work

Photoshop - pictures taken in Uganda, Mexico, and St. Martin

Illustrator - Assignment was to pick an idiom. Can you guess it?!
(I'll put it on the bottom of the post)

I took a digital art class this semester, which was completely new to me! I had a great teacher, and ended up really liking the class. We worked in Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Final Cut. I have tried uploading the videos, but I still have to figure out how to successfully do it. So for now, here are my Photoshop and Illustrator Projects!

Answer - you are what you eat!

Quote of the Day

"For me a picture should be a pleasant thing, joyful and pretty—yes pretty! There are quite enough unpleasant things in life without the need for us to manufacture more"

My Yellow Chair

This is my first time to make a furniture piece, and I am happy with the way it turned out! I was so intimidated going into the wood shop, with all the big machines and loud noises. But thankfully the 2 guys working there were so helpful, patient, and knowledgable, helping me to face my wood shop fears!  If you know me at all, you know I love the color yellow, so I think this chair (or whatever you want it to be) fits me well. I know many of you will think, "how is that a chair?" but I have decided that is what I am going to call it, its just a chair for you and 2 other friends. I think it could also be useful as shelves ( I like to image it with books and vases holding beautiful purple flowers!). Hope you enjoy the pictures!
